A Service of Remembrance for Loretta G. Hertle, 91, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Alpha, Minnesota, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, December 19, 2015. at Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota with Good Samaritan Society of Mountain Lake Chaplain Merwin Dick officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, Minnesota.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont. The funeral home is located at 71 2nd Avenue S. E.
Loretta Hertle passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society-The Village, in Mountain Lake.
Loretta Gene Garber was born on February 27, 1924, to Charles and Fannie (Hartzler) Garber in Jackson County, Minnesota. She moved with her family to Hesston, Kansas and attended and graduated from Hesston Academy. Loretta later moved to Minnesota and settled in the Jackson area.
On October 10, 1943, she was united in marriage to Albert Hertle at Alpha Mennonite Church in Alpha, Minnesota. After their marriage, they farmed in the Petersburg, Minnesota area and then in the Alpha area. They provided the word of the Lord to Fox Lake Chapel, North Redwood, Green Hill, Kimbrae, Island, Wilder, Lake Crystal, Montevideo and Chandler, all of Minnesota. Albert and Loretta served many Bible Camps and provided various Bible Studies and School. Loretta was employed at Dorskie’s Café in Alpha for 25 years and also did home day care for various families in the area. In their later years, Albert and Loretta sold stainless steel cookware. When they retired they lived in Alpha until becoming residents of the Good Samaritan Society of Mountain Lake-The Village in 2005. Albert passed away on April 8, 2009.
Loretta is survived by a son, David (Laura) Hertle of Omaha, Nebraska; a daughter, Nila Gene (Eldon) Olson of rural Trimont; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet (Wayne) Whynaucht of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Barbara Garber of Nevada; brothers-in-law, Leo Escherhausen of Phoenix, Arizona and Lee Evans of Rochester, Minnesota and other relatives and friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by his parents; husband, Albert Hertle; brother, C.J. Garber; sisters, Roberta Bontrager and Bonnie (Emerson) Evans and other relatives.
