Cobra wrestlers split in home tri

In a home triangular meet last night (Thursday, January 25), the Windom/Mountain Lake (W/ML) Cobra wrestlers split on the evening.

In their first match-up, the Cobras lost to Minneota 39 to 27 despite winning five of their first seven matches. The Vikings rebounded to claim six of the final seven weight classes. W/ML went on to defeat Adrian, 53 to 15..

Earning wins for the Cobras against Minneota were were Brett Willaby (113), Kade Sammons (120), Alex Borsgard (138), Zach Spinks (145) and Jabari Carlton (195). Hunter Ekstrom (126) won by forfeit.

Willaby scored an 18-2 technical fall over Eric Carrasco. Sammons beat Kade Lozinaki by 11-2 major decision. Borsgard decisioned Blake Reiss 6-2. Spinks beat Cole Vanoverbeke 11-7, and Carlson pinned Layne Lozinski in 2:00.

Against the Dragons, Willaby (113), Sammons (120), Trenton Renquist (132), Borsgard (138), Spinks (145), Emilio Garcia De La Cruz (152), Keith Swenson (160), Jesse Jepsen (170), Osmar Roman Parada (182) and Carlton (195) all claimed weight class victories.
