Funeral services for 62-year-old Arlie David Regehr of Jackon, Minnesota, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning, August 14, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Jackson. The church is located at 921 Hills Avenue.
Burial will be in Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, Minnesota, at 3 p.m. that afternoon. The cemetery is located on Highway #30 south of Jeffers.
Pastor Steve DeKok will officiate.
Visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Arlie David Regehr passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, California.
Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson is handling the funeral arrangements.
Arlie David Regehr was born on December 12, 1952 in Windom, Minnesota, the son of David and Mary (Friesen) Regehr. He graduated from Jeffers Public High School in 1970 and later graduated from a truck driving school in Indiana. He drove truck for various companies before owning his own truck and company, Regehr Trucking. He had lived in Jeffers for 15 years before moving to Jackson in 1997.
Arlie was baptized at the Jeffers Baptist Church and confirmed at the Westbrook Baptist Church and was later a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson.
In high school, he was a member of FFA and the basketball team. He had driven over seven million miles. Arlie enjoyed reading, was a “Trekkie” and loved sci-fi movies and books. Fishing was also a favorite hobby. He also had a love for cats – and even took in strays.
Arlie is survived by his three children, Leslie Regehr of Shakopee, Minnesota, Matthew of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota and Jennifer (Corey) Smock, of Shakopee; three grandchildren, Cassandra, Sara and Ryan; three siblings, Glema (Lawrence) Wiese of Kasota, Minnesota, Orville (Dawn) Regehr of Johnstown, Colorado and LaVonne (Allen) Oeltjenbruns of North Mankato, Minnesota and the mother of the children, Nancy Symanitz of Jordan, Minnesota.
Arlie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Regehr and Laverne Regehr and one sister, Beverly Regehr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
