Funeral services for 97-year-old Gustav “Gus” Heffele of Windom, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning, May 21, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, Minnesota. The church is located at 202 North Deaver.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Windom, Minnesota.
Visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Gustav “Gus” Heffele was born on March 26, 1918, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the son of the late Gottfried and Eva E. (Deite) Heffele. He was baptized and confirmed in Mountain Lake and received his education from country school in rural Mountain Lake.
On April 6, 1942, Gus was united in marriage to Mavis Jeanne Sinnamon at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. They lived on a farm in Delton Township, Cottonwood County for many years until coming to live in Jeffers in 1953. To this union two daughters were born. After moving to Windom, Gus worked at TORO in Windom as a supervisor in the paint department until retiring in 1980 after 27 dedicated years.
Over the years, Gus loved camping and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed cooking, was a good baker, enjoyed gardening and his dog “Daisy”, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Gus was a longtime, dedicated member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, where he served on the church council and was a frequent usher. He was also was a member of the Jeffers Lions Club.
Gus is survived by his two daughters, Marjorie (Donald) Schwartz of Owatonna, Minnesota and Thelma (David) Ranisate of Ham Lake, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Dwight Roos and Lee and Tyson Schwartz; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Roos; four great-great-grandchildren, Mataya, Tayvin, Cayson and Tiana; two sisters, Martha Brandt of Mountain Lake and Eva Goossen of Trimont, Minnesota and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mavis in October 1992 and 11 brothers and sisters.
