Arnold Oeltjenbruns

Funeral services for 91-year-old Arnold Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 2, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. The church is located at 1418 2nd Avenue.

Interment will be in Mountain Lake City Cemetery, located on 10th Street North at Midway Road.

Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral home is located at 420 10th Street North. Visitation will continue at the church the day for the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Arnold Oeltjenbruns passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Windom Area Hospital in Windom.

Arnold Gerhard Oeltjenbruns was born on June 14, 1926, the son of Gerhard and Olga (Steinhauser) Oeltjenbruns in Mountain Lake. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, where he was a lifelong member. Arnold attended country school at 80E through the eighth grade. On November 17, 1946, Arnold was called into the United States Army and served until November 22, 1948.

He was united in married to Lorraine Ott at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota on October 19, 1949.

Arnold farmed all his adult life until retiring to Mountain Lake.

He enjoyed to fish, play cards and dance. Arnold’s family will remember fondly his teasing nature towards them.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Mountain Lake; children, Laura (Joe) Wensauer of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, Al (LaVonne) Oeltjenbruns of North Mankato, Minnesota, Lyle (Amy) Oeltjenbruns of Parkers Prairie, Darryl (Melinda) Oeltjenbruns of Butterfield, Minnesota, Judy Cooper of Mapleton, Minnesota and Glen (Cris) Oeltjenbruns of Luverne, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and siblings, Walter Oeltjenbruns, Loretta Carter and Dennis Oeltjenbruns.

Arnold was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Martha Oeltjenbruns; son-in-law, Steve Cooper; parents, Gerhard and Olga; parents-in-law, Carl and Anna Ott Sr.; brothers, Leroy (Evaline) and Richard Oeltjenbruns and brother-in-law, Carl Ott Jr.
