Delores ‘Dee’ Hansen

Funeral services for 81-year-old Delores “Dee” Hansen of Westbrook, Minnesota, formerly of the Storden and Windom, Minnesota areas, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 27, 2017, at Bethany Lutheran Church of Storden. The church is located at 300 American Street.

Visitation will be today (Tuesday, September 26, 2017), from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Storden Community Center, located at 312 America Street. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Dee moved into the Good Samaritan Society of Westbrook, Minnesota one-and-a-half years ago, and lived there until passing away on Friday evening, September 22, 2017 at the Westbrook Hospital in Westbrook.  

Delores “Dee” Hansen was born on May 11, 1936 in Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Eleanora (Beseke) Harries. She was baptized and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpha, Minnesota. She received her education from Mountain Lake Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1954.

In 1953, Dee was united in marriage to Arnold Karschnik at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpha. They made their home in Mountain Lake, Minnesota and were later divorced.

On March 31, 1966, Dee was united in marriage to Roger Hansen at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden. Roger and Dee lived in Storden, and in the late 1970s, moved to a farm north of Windom until 12 years ago, at which time they sold the farm and moved back to Storden. For over 20 years, Roger and Dee wintered in Arizona.

Dee was a homemaker and also worked at PJ’s in Wilder, Minnesota; TORO in Windom and drove truck with her husband. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden.

Dee will be remembered as a hard worker and knew how to do anything. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years, fishing, gardening, playing cards and cribbage with her sons, visiting with family and friends and most of all spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Dee is survived by 10 children, Bonnie (Jim) Gibson of Westbrook, Minnesota, Allan (Michelle) Karschnik of Windom, Vicky (Rod) Missling of Jeffers, Minnesota, Roger “Mike” Hansen of Abilene, Kansas, Arlan (Brenda) Karschnik of Brainerd, Minnesota, Steve Hansen of Springfield, Minnesota, Larry (Cheryl) Hansen of Rush City, Minnesota, Donna Karschnik of Gilbert, Arizona, Randy Hansen Stinehart of Westfield, Pennsylvania and David Hansen of Storden; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ardis (Wes) Krahn of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Pat Harries of Wakefield, Kansas and Delyle (Janice) Harries of Mountain Lake and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Hansen; one sister, Darlene Murray and five grandchildren.
