Richard ‘Dick’ Noyes

Mass of Christian Burial for 69-year-old Richard “Dick” Noyes of Windom, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 27, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Chuch in Windom. The church is located at 532 17th Street.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home is located at 2280 6th Avenue. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.

Richard “Dick” Noyes was born on December 8, 1947, in Marshall, Minnesota, the son of Emil Cyriel and Mary Louise (Labat). He was baptized as an infant at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall and later confirmed in that same church. Dick received his early education at the Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Marshall and later graduated from Central Catholic High School in the Class of 1965. He then furthered his education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Daota; graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Degree in 1969.

On June 21, 1969, Dick was united in marriage to Diane Marie Farrell at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. This marriage was blessed with three children, Becky, Brad and Beth. After marriage, Dick and Diane lived in Windom and Dick was the Senior Financial Services Officer for AgStar Financial Services for 42 years. In May 2011, Dick retired and continued to live in Windom and enjoyed more time with his grandchildren, golfing and time in the outdoors.

Dick was diagnosed with cancer in the spring 2009 and fought the disease courageously. He died peacefully, with his family at his side on Sunday morning, April 23, 2017.

Dick was a longtime member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom where he was a member of the parish council and parish finance committee along with the Knights of Columbus, cemetery board and an usher.

He was also involved in his community as a member of the Park and Rec Board, Mayor’s Medal of Honor recipient, hockey coach, Windom Area Hospital Foundation and a member of the Windom Country Club as a board member.

His enjoyments included playing and watching many sports, spending time in the outdoors and most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Blessed to have shared his life include his wife of 47 years, Diane Noyes of Windom; three children, Becky (Chris) Hein and their children, Kaleb and Lucas of Luverne, Minnesota, Brad (Jamie) Noyes and their children, Brock and Ella of Moorhead, Minnesota and Beth (Travis) Oltmans and their children, Carter, Makenzie and Brody of Owatonna, Minnesota; his mother, Mary Noyes of Marshall; four siblings, Darlene (Duane) Loeck of Wichita, Kansas, Steve (Jenny) Noyes of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, LouAnn Gunderson (Bernie Hillesheim) of Sanborn, Minnesota and Deb (Bill) Blomme of Marshall; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his father, Emil C. Noyes.
