Mountain Lake Public Library to host wildlife photographer, naturalist and writer Stan Tekiela on April 11

Stan Tekiela, writer, naturalist, and wildlife photographer will present the program, “Uncommon Facts About Common Birds,” at Mountain Lake Public Library on Tuesday, April 11, beginninga t 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.

Tekiela earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural History from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He has been an active professional naturalist for more than 25 years and is a member of the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union, Outdoor Writers Association of America, North American Nature Photography Association and Canon Professional Services.

Tekiela studies and photographs wildlife throughout the United States and has received various national and regional awards for his books and photographs. A well-known columnist and radio personality, his syndicated column appears in more than 25 newspapers and his wildlife progams are broadcast on numerous Midwest radio stations.
