Mountain Lake Public Library hosts wildlife photographer, naturalist, writer Stan Tekiela

Stan Tekiela, writer, naturalist, and wildlife photographer presented the program, “Uncommon Facts About Common Birds,” at Mountain Lake Public Library on this evening (Tuesday, April 11).

The program was funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.

Tekiela earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural History from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He has been an active professional naturalist for more than 25 years and is a member of the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union, Outdoor Writers Association of America, North American Nature Photography Association and Canon Professional Services.

Tekiela studies and photographs wildlife throughout the United States and has received various national and regional awards for his books and photographs. A well-known columnist and radio personality, his syndicated column appears in more than 25 newspapers and his wildlife progams are broadcast on numerous Midwest radio stations.
