A Su Fu Formal

MLC Junior/Senior Event takes participants from school reception to Sioux Falls activities

The Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Junior/Senior Formal Event opened with a reception at the school for the students from those classes, and their guests, on Saturday afternoon, April 22. The fresh fruit and sweet treat buffet was provided by MLC sophomore students and their parents. Adding to the springtime atmosphere were five large pots of plants provided by Mountain Lake Floral, fir trees courtesy of Community Bible Church and curtains, plants, decorations and scenic forest backdrop for photo opportunities from the Alliance Church.

The evening – on into the early morning of Sunday, April 23 – is taking participants via charter bus to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a Su Fu-based Formal.

The group dined at Morrie’s Steakhouse, dedicated to bringing back old Hollywood and Jazz classics; sophistication with an air of unpredictability. Back then, dining was a complete experience.

They are then slated to take in the panoramic setting of the 123-acre Falls Park surrounding the city’s falls, as through it runs the Big Sioux River. Falls Park is located north of downtown Sioux Falls. An average of 7,400 gallons of water drops 100 feet over the course of the Falls each second. The park includes the visitor information center and observation tower, Falls Overlook Cafe, the Queen Bee Mill, several permanent sculptures and an open air shelter. It is home to Winter Wonderland, a display of holiday lights and decorations every Christmas season.

The pace will pick up as action moves to the Sky Zone. Fun there will feature wall-to-wall indoor trampolines, which evolve into trampoline dodgeball and dunking, foam pit and the warrior course.

Adult chaperones are Micah and Brittany Siebert.
