‘We can be Heroes’

Windom Figure Skating Club’s 40th annual shows this weekend

The skaters of the Windom Skating Club will take to the ice of the Windom Arena this weekend to share their talents under the theme, “We can Be Heroes,” during it 40th Annual Ice Show.

Shows will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March12. The March 12 performance will feature an alumni number.

Advance sale tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Tickets at the door are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available from any figure skater, at Bank Midwest in Windom or by calling 507-822-2164.

Skating in their final show will be a pair of young women from Mountain Lake. The two include Jaden Hoek, daughter of Trent and Pam Hoek, a senior at Mountain Lake Public High School and Christianna Green, daughter of Dave and Judy Green. The duo began with Snowplow Sam classes and moved up through the eight Basic Skills levels over the years. During this weekend’s shows, the seniors, along with other senior skaters, will be in the spotlight as they are each showcased in individual skate and song presentations.
