Juan Manuel Barron

Mass of Christian Burial for 62-year-old Juan Barron of Butterfield, Minnesota, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning, February 9, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church in St. James, Minnesota, with Father Miguel Proanos as celebrant. The church is located at 623 4th Street South.

Burial will be at Butterfield City Cemetery in Butterfield. The cemetery is located south of the city on Watonwan County Road 5.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Sturm Funeral Home-St. James Chapel in St. James from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral home is at 906 10th Avenue South. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Juan Barron passed away at his Butterfield home on Monday, February 6, 2017.

Juan Manuel Barron was born on January 31, 1955 in La Virgen, Durango, Mexico,
the son of Baudelio and Lucia Limones Hernandez Barron. He grew up and
attended school in Mexico. On September 3, 1987, he married Maria de Barron.

The couple immigrated to the United States in 1979 and lived in Butterfield for
the past 38 years. Juan worked as a boiler operator for Butterfield Foods
for many years. He was a hard worker and had a perfect attendance record for
many years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Alan; was a talented
carpenter; a member of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening
during the summer months.

He is survived by his wife, Maria De Barron of Butterfield; daughter, Mary
(Oscar) Garduno of Sibley, Iowa; grandson, Alan Garduno; his mother, Lucia
Limones of Mexico and siblings, Lucia Teresa (Alberto) Barron, Hilda Barron,
Concha (Gerardo) Barron, Maricela (Mario) Barron, Francisco (Ana) Barron,
Baudelio (Chuya) Barron, Roberto (Andrea) Barron and Alfredo (Maria
Dolores) Barron.

Preceding him in death was his father.
