BOPS School Board holds special meeting

Purpose was to interview half-time interim superintendent candidates

The Butterfield-Odin Public School (B-OPS) School Board met in a special meeting tonight (Thursday, February 23) to interview a pair of candidates for the school district’s half-time interim superintendent position. The position will run from March 1 to June 30.

Current half-time Interim Superintendent Allen Stoeckman submitted his resignation, effective March 1.

Interviewed were Bruce V. Aamot of Minneapolis and Raymond “Ray” R. Arsenault of Rochester.

Board members selected Arsenault, who Arsenault served as superintendent of Gallup-McKinley County Schools in Gallup, New Mexico from 2008 to 2013. He also was Executive Director at East Range Academy of Technology and Science in Eveleth and this past September, was named Executive Director at Rochester Beacon Academy in Rochester, Minnesota in March 2015 and was one of 14 finalist applicants for Las Cruces Public Schools superintendent in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was also one of two finalists the last time B-OPS selected a superintendent, at which time half-time Interim Superintendent Allen Stoeckman was selected for the position.
