Funeral services for 72-year-old Jacqueline “Jackie” M. Doeden of Windom, Minnesota, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, January 3, 2017, at the Assembly of God Church in Windom. The church is located at 41445 United States Highway #71.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom on Monday, January 2, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home is locate at 2280 6th Avenue. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Jackie Doeden’s health had been declining, and she passed away at her Windom home on Wednesday evening, December 28, 2016.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie Sherwood Doeden was born on May 11, 1944 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of John H and Hazel B. (Margeson) Sherwood. She was baptized in Heron Lake, Minnesota.
Jackie lived and worked in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa, raising her children before she attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated in 1984. The family returned to Sioux Falls, where Jackie worked for the Sioux Falls School System in the Indian education department. In 1990, Jackie moved to Windom.
Jackie was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Windom. She served on the board for WESCAP for over four years. Her favorite activities were gardening, genealogy, reading, crafts, fishing and anything with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always interested in self-sufficiency, growing your own food and preserving it. Besides vegetable gardening, she also had several flowerbeds.
She is survived by six children, Tony (Laurie) Kuck of Brandon, South Dakota, Kathi Blount of Windom, Khris (George) Pankratz of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, Chantelle Martin of Jeffers, Minnesota, Melissa (Robert) Teel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Morgan (Sue) Doeden of Jeffers; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; loving partner, Charles Warne; daughter, Tiffany Paige Doeden and brother, Wayne “Butch” H. Sherwood.
