A Celebration of Life Service for 61-year-old Shawn Harris of rural Sherburn, Minnesota will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, October 29, 2016 at the Sherburn Assembly of God Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, with Nick Monger officiating . The worship center is located at Crossroads Drive in Sherburn.
Burial will be in Elm Creek Cemetery in rural Trimont, Minnesota.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Sherburn Assembly of God Regional Worship Center, and again one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Shawn Harris passed away on Monday afternoon, October 24, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Mankato in Mankato, Minnesota.

Shawn Gregory Harris was born on February 21, 1955 in Trimont, the son of Derald and Joan (Schafer) Harris. He received his education from Trimont High School, graduating with the Class of 1973. Shawn then farmed with his father in Fox Lake Township, rural Sherburn. He then worked for several manufacturing businesses in the area. In 1991, he entered into a partnership with his brother, Paul, in Harris Farms Honey.
On December 18, 2004, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Larson at Mountain Lake, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived on their farm in Fox Lake Township.
Shawn loved to go fishing especially on Big Twin Lake. He also loved gardening, being outdoors and living on the farm. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan. Antiques, bird-watching and Allis Chalmers tractors were special to him. In addition, Shawn could fix just about anything, as he was a gifted mechanic.
As a youth, he helped to start the Kabin Koach Gang, a Christian group of young people intent on renovating a 1936 bus into an RV (recreational vehicle). He lived out his faith and love of kids by teaching Sunday School and Royal Rangers.
Survivors include his wife, Jen Harris of rural Sherburn; parents, Derald and Joan Harris of Sherburn; brother, Paul (Sue) Harris of St. James, Minnesota; sister, Kathy (Dirk) Williams of rural St. James; cousin/brother, Byron (Cathy) Bruce and family of St. James; nephews, Robbie (Cassie) Williams, Ryan (Paige) Williams, Evan (Victoria) Harris, Reid Harris and Parker Harris; niece, Paige (Nick) Mongar; Jen’s Aunt, Kathy Schewe of Marshall, Minnesota; a special young man, Tyler Westman; aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives and friends and his dog, Sadie.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother-in-law, Margaret Larson and other relatives.
