june hansenA Celebration of Life Service for 93-year-old June  E.   Hansen of Odin, Minnesota will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016,at Zion Lutheran Church in  Odin, with Reverend Carla  Reierson officiating.

Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Odin.

June Hansen passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2016, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Society in St. James, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont, Minnesota, located at 71 2nd Avenue S. E., on Thursday, May 19, 2016, and again at the church the day of the funeral service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

June Elaine Larson was born in Odin on June 4, 1922, the daughter of Lars and Inga (Hjelter) Larson. She attended school in Odin up to the eighth grade. d

On December 23, 1939, June was united in marriage to Lawren Hansen at the Little Brown Church in Estherville, Iowa. They made their home in Odin with the exception of living in Trimont and Long Beach, Caifornia for several months one year, but then returned to Odin. To this union, five children were born. They were married over 50 years.

Lawren Hansen passed away on December 7, 1991.

In the spring 2003, June, moved to Prairie View, an independent-living facility, and then was the first admission to Brandt Ridge, an assisted-living facility, and later to Pleasant View Home.

June was a wonderful homemaker and did a lot of cooking, baking (especially known for her YUMMY donuts), sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was also very active in her church and community, and was always available to lend a “helping hand.” She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, playing cards and other games, and of course visiting with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her loving and friendly ways.

Survivors include her two sons, Sanford Hansen of Odin and Thomas (Sherry) of Truman, Minnesota: her two daughters, Judith Shepherd of St. James, Minnesota, and Sharon (Stanley) Luther of Lewisville, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Lawren Hansen; son, David and wife, Jeanne Hansen; grandson, Philip Hansen; son-in-law, Richard Shepherd; two sisters, Hulda (Justus) Lundquist and Mabel (Lloyd) Nordby and four brothers, Palmer, Carl, Harold and Helmer Larson.
