Students’ artistic media on display

Annual Cottonwood County Student Art Show set to open

The annual Cottonwood County Student Art Show is set to open this Sunday, April 3, in the Remick Gallery at the Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom, with a special exhibit opening. The opening, which is free, will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with light refreshments served throughout the afternoon. The Historical Society is located at 812 4th Avenue.

More than 40 works of art created by senior high students from throughout Cottonwood County will be on display. The works cover a variety of artistic media and themes. They have been created by student artists from Mountain Lake High School, Mountain Lake Christian, Red Rock Central High School, Westbrook-Walnut Grove High School and Windom Area High School, as well as students from Red Rock Ridge Learning Center of Windom.

Patrons will be able to vote for their favorite art work when visiting the exhibit, which will run through Saturday, April 23.

The exhibit can be viewed during the museum’s regular hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
