kermit andersonFuneral services for 92-year-old Kermit A. Anderson of St. James, Minnesota and formerly of rural Ormsby, Minnesota will be 11 a.m. this morning (Saturday, November 21, 2015) at Long Lake Lutheran Church in rural St. James, with Rev. Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Kermit Anderson passed away  on Wednesday morning, November 18, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in St. James.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church today. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont, Minnesota, is handling the arrangements. Personal words of comfort may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com.

Kermit Allen Anderson was born on May 11, 1923 to Seymour and Emma (Hunstad) Anderson in Odin Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota. He attended country school in rural Butterfield, Minnesota.

On February 20, 1945, he was united in marriage to Vivian Olson at Long Lake Lutheran Church in rural St. James. After their marriage they lived on various farms in Watonwan County until 1952, when they moved to Ormsby where he ended his farming career. In August 2011, they moved to Prairie View Apartments in St. James to make their home.

He was a member of Long Lake Lutheran Church where he ushered and helped out whereever. Kermit enjoyed spending time with his family and going to the Butterfield Threshing Bee. Over the years you could find him drinking coffee with his family and friends, going ice fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include  his wife, Vivian Anderson of St. James; son, Lyle (Mary) Anderson of rural Butterfield; daughter, Carol (Gary) Fleming of Chaska, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Michael Anderson and special friend, Kelly of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Mark (Jesse) Anderson of St. James, Kyle (Amy) Fleming of Arvada, Colorado and Katie Fleming and Kelly Fleming both of Chaska; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Ellie Anderson and Caleb and Addie Fleming; sister, Gladys Heppner of Afton, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Lucille Flohrs of Ormsby; brother-in-law, Donald Winkelman of Trimont; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Kermit was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marlyn Anderson; brothers-in-law, Leo Heppner and Vernon Flohrs; sisters-in-law, Velma Winkelman and Viola Anderson and other relatives.
