Funeral services for 39-year-old Duane Stubbe of Westbrook, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, November 6, 2015, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, Minnesota. The church is located at 906 Prospect Avenue.
Visitation will be at LaCanne Family Funeral Service in Windom on Thursday, November 5, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. LaCanne Family Funeral Service is located at 2280 6th Avenue. A second visitation will be held at the church the day of the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Duane Stubbe passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was an organ and tissue donor and was able to give others “life” following his death.
Duane Stubbe was born on October 18, 1976 in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, the son of Ronald and Virginia (Loder) Stubbe. Through the years, Duane lived in various cities across South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. He graduated from Windom Area Public High School with the Class of 1996. Duane then attended Minnesota West in Canby, Minnesota, where he studied auto mechanics. Following completion of his education, Duane began working for Town’s Edge Auto in Mountain Lake.
On May 8, 2004, Duane was united in marriage to Rosie Bixby in Westbrook. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Dawson and Walker.
After marriage, Duane worked as an over-the-road truck driver; hauling mainly grain and livestock. His last job with Hedquist Farms was one he cherished and could not have asked for a better employer.
Duane had many enjoyments in life which included helping others and watching racing and helping with it now and then. But most of all, he loved spending time with his boys and watching them play hockey.
Duane is survived by his wife, Rosie Stubbe of Westbrook; three sons, Cayden Olsen of Windom and Dawson and Walker Stubbe of Westbrook; his mother, Jenny Reimche of Fairmont, Minnesota; his father, Ron Stubbe of Walnut Grove, Minnesota; his brother, Jason Stubbe of Big Lake, Minnesota; his sister, Heather (Dustin) Philipp of Fairmont; da special niece, MacKenzie of Olney, Illinois; his mother-in-law, Vicky Bixby of Windom; Rosie’s siblings and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his nephew, Hunter; his father-in-law, Doug Bixby and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
