Speedway Builders 4-H Club kicks off new year

Eighteen current. four prospective members meet September 20

The Speedway Builders 4-H Club of Butterfield kicked off its new year with its fall meeting on Sunday, September 20. There were 18 current members attending – including four prospective new members.

To jump start the meeting, the annual hay ride was held through the streets of Butterfield.

Club members presented reports on the Threshing Bee homemade ice cream stand, the Minnesota State Fair and the Share-The-Fun state fair performance.

Officers selected for 2015-2016 include:

+ President – Lukas Pierson.

+ Vice-President – Liana Blomgren.

+ Secretary – Brianna Ringen.

+ Treasurer – Noah Wolle.

+ Historian – Jorja Lepp.

+ Adult Advisory Board Member – Jody Lepp.

+ Adult Leaders – Kim Blomgren and Tim and Tammy Wolle.

The club is celebrating National 4-H Week this week (Sunday, October 4 to Sunday, October 11). To recognize the special week, the club has a window display at the Butterfield True Value Hardware Store. Member projects are included in the display.

The 4-H banquet will be Sunday, October 25.

An invitation is extended to anyone interested in joining the 4-H club to attend the next meeting. That meeting will be Sunday, October 18, beginning at 4:30 p.m., in the Butterfield City Hall.
