dorothy hochsteinFuneral services for 91-year-old Dorothy Mae Hochstein will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, August 28, 2015, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, Minnesota. The church is located at 202 North Deaver.

Interment will be in Jeffers, Cemetery, located south of Highway #30 on the south edge of Jeffers.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at LaCanne Family Funeral Service in Windom, located at 2280 6th Avenue in Windom. Visitation will also b e from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church the day of the funeral service.

Dorothy M. Hochstein passed away Monday, August 24, 2015.

Dorothy Mae Hochstein was born on June 13, 1924, in Windom, the daughter of the the late George and Pauline (Schimnoski) Ysker. She was baptized and confirmed on May 12, 1940 in Windom and received her education in Bingham Lake, Minnesota.

Through the years, Dorothy worked as a Psychiatric Technician in Willmar, at the Good Samaritan Society-The Village in Mountain Lake, Minnesota and at St. John Nursing Home in Springfield, Minnesota.

On May 26, 1962, Dorothy was united in marriage to Raymond Hochstein at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. They enjoyed many good years on the farm together. Dorothy will be remembered for being a hard worker and had many enjoyments in life, which included taking care of the sick, canning, making wine, spending time on the farm and most of all, her grandchildren.

Dorothy was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers, where she sang in the church choir and was a Sunday School teacher for 37 years. She also was involved in the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #401 and the Sweet Adelines.

Dorothy is survived by her six children, Dianne Studer of Mankato, Minnesota, Orlin (Marilyn) Palm of Blue Earth, Minnesota, Ronald Palm of Jeffers, Judy Kolander of Albertville, Minnesota, Marlin (Maureen) Palm of Mountain Lake and Kevin Hochstein of Jeffers; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (Bob) Carmichael of Anoka, Minnesota and Marilyn Haack of Garfield, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Raymond Hochstein; son, Edward Palm; two brothers, Dennis Ysker and Robert Ysker and one sister, Vera Lindstrom.
