Hazardous household waste collection in Butterfield

Date is May 26; Darfur and Odin residents welcome

A Watonwan County household hazardous waste collection will be held in Butterfield on Tuesday, May 26, from 5 p.m., behind Butterfield City Hall. Darfur and Odin residents are also welcome to bring their household hazardous waste to the collection site.

Accepted will be the following:

* Paint – oil or latex.

* Aerosol cans – with the contents.

* Thinners.

* Strippers.

*Primers.

* Varnishes.

* Preservatives.

* Glues and adhesives.

* Household cleaners.

* Insecticides and pesticides.

* Poisons.

* Car batteries.

* Oil and oil filters ($1 per oil filter charge).

* Fluorescent bulbs (small charge.)

* Mercury and mercury thermometers.

* Tires – big and small (charge of $1 per tire and up, depending on size).

* Televisions and monitors ($10 each).

* Printers, scanners, fax machines, radios and computers ($5 each).

* Keyboard, mice and speakers (no charge).

* All other miscellaneous electronics ($5 each).
