e Funeral services for Adele Salzwedel, 88, of Windom, Minnesota will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, May 21, 2015, at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, located at 1157 3rd Avenue.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at LaCanne Family Funeral Service, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home is located at 2280 6th Avenue in Windom. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Adele Maureen (Fett) Salzwedel was born on May 14, 1927 in Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minnesota, the daughter of Fred and Tilla (Benson) Fett. She was baptized July 3, 1927 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on October 27, 1940 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Bergen, Minnesota. Adele attended country school District #61 in Jackson County through eighth-grade and graduated from Windom Public High School in 1944. After graduation, worked as a telephone operator in Windom and later worked as a Registrar at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
She married Elmer Salzwedel on August 14, 1946 in Lakefield, Minnesota. To this union three children were born. They farmed in the Lakefield area until 1951, when they moved to the Bingham Lake area where they farmed and raised their family. Late,r Elmer became a rural mail carrier and Adele took a job as legal secretary. She held this position for several years and then became Deputy Court Administrator and Probate Registrar for Cottonwood County until her retirement in 1989.
When Elmer passed away in 1997, Adele moved to Windom and resided there until her death.
Adele was an active member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior. She especially enjoyed participating in Ladies Aid and Choir at Bethany and LWML, Circle, Golden Age and Choir at Our Savior’s. Adele loved music and treasured the many years singing with the choir. She also enjoyed golfing and playing cards with friends and was an active member of the Windom Area Senior Citizens Center. Her family was a very important part of her life and she was thankful for all the times spent together.
Survivors include her two sons, Larry (Debra) Salzwedel and Bradley “Sam” Salzwedel both of Mankato, Minnesota, her daughter, Debra (Robert) Bonk of Fairmont, Minnesota; four grandsons, Matthew (Amanda) Salzwedel, Michael (Hilary) Salzwedel, Daniel Bonk and Luke Salzwedel; three great grandchildren, Naomi, Noah and Eli; her brother, Francis (Lavonne) Fett of Windom, and her sister-in-law, Avis Fett of Windom.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her three brothers, LaVerne Fett, Goldman Fett and Calvin Fett and two sisters-in-law, Doris Fett and Donna Fett.
