Funeral services for 54-year-old Karon (Molitor) Mischke of Heron Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday morning, March 30, 2015, at LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom, Minnesota, located at 2280 6th Avenue.
Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Heron Lake.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, March 29, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well as from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. the day of the funeral service.
Early on Tuesday morning, March 25, 2015 Karon became suddenly ill at her home in Heron Lake and was taken to the Windom Area Hospital in Windom where she passed away.
Karon Ruth Mischke was born on September 13, 1960, in Slayton, Minnesota, the daughter of Severin and Ruth (Schons) Molitor. She received her education from Mountain Lake Public Schools; graduating with the Class of 1978. She then then attended Anoka Vo-Tech in Anoka, Minnesota, where she graduated in 1980.
On July 18, 1987, Karon was united in marriage to Tommas Mischke in Heron Lake. Through the years, Karon worked at the Nobles County DAC in Worthington, Minnesota as a cook and human services technician. She also was a co-leader for the support group of Iraq soldiers and was very active in craft shows. Karon’s enjoyments in life included crafting, sewing, cooking, baking, camp and spending time with her family.
Karon is survived by her husband, of 27 years, Tommas Mischke of Heron Lake; her two children, Jacob and Carrie Mischke of Heron Lake; mother, Ruth Molitor of Mountain Lake; brothers and sisters, Jim Molitor of Lucan, Minnesota, Peg (Tom) Gosen of Mountain Lake, Tony (Lori) Molitor of Big Lake, Minnesota, Colette Niesen of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Jerry (Marlys) Molitor of Mountain Lake, Dan Molitor of Mountain Lake and Paul (Deb) Molitor of Mountain Lake; mother-in-law, Dawne Mischke of Worthington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean (Deb) Mischke of Falls Creek, Wisconsin, Sue (Mark) Hassebrook of Brewster, Minnesota, Eileen Watson of St. Peter, Minnesota, Loren (Wendy) Mischke of Rapid City, Illinois and Pamela (David) Connely of Spaar, Florida; family companion, Sarge and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Severin; father-in-law, Wesley Mischke and niece/goddaughter, Sara Rosen.
