‘Do You Want To Build A Better Snowman Contest’ gets needed building ‘material’

Event is just one activity connected to Butterfield’s ‘Winter Freeze 2015’

snowman (1)The “Do You Want To Build A Better Snowman Contest” – the first annual – have received the necessary building “material” needed. The contest continues through Friday, February 27, 2015. The contest is sponsored by the Butterfield Summer Sizzler.

The event is one part of Butterfield’s first annual “Winter Freeze 2015.”

Families and businesses are encouraged to enter together.

The rules for the contest include nine points:

* The contest is open to “children” of all ages – as well as businesses.

* Accessories may be added to the snowman – however, the snowman must be suitable for ALL viewing audiences.

* Entrants are encouraged to add their own creative touches that will make the snowman unique.

* The snowman must be built within the Butterfield city limits during the set time period. If from outside the city limits, the snowman may be built at either Butterfield City Park of the public school’s football field.

* All entries should include a photograph of the snowman that also includes at least one of the snowman “builders” for scale.

* Accompanying the photo must be the name of the builder(s), address, telephone number – and date the snowman was built.

* Entry photos must be dropped off at Butterfield City Hall or posted on the Butterfield Summer Sizzler Facebook page by Friday, February 27, 2015.

* Judging will be based on creativity and originality. Judging will be done on Saturday, February 28, 2015 – the day of the “Winter Freeze 2015.”

* Prizes will be awarded. Winners will be notified by telephone and posted on the Butterfield Summer Sizzler Facebook page.

The snowman-building contest leads up to the first-ever “Winter Freeze 2015” – a day full of family fun and games on Butterfield Lake. The activities that day will begin at 9 a.m. with some fast-paced ice oval snowmobile racing action. Bean bag tournaments will also be held throughout the day. Additional events will be added as the date approaches – watch for them on this website.
