roy eversFuneral services for 88-year-old Roy Evers of Lamberton, Minnesota, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, December 23, 2014, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton, located at 805 Birch Street.

Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Jeffers, Minnesota.

Pastor Julie Smith will serve as officiant for the services.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church the day of the funeral service.

Sturm Funeral Home-Springfield, Minnesota is handling the arrangements.

Roy died on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield.

Roy Ralph Evers was born on October 8, 1926, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Amelia (Zettler) Evers. The family lived in Comfrey, Minnesota until 1944, when they settled near Lamberton in Cottonwood County.

On April 18, 1948, he was united in marriage to Violet Seligman at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County. To this union, one son and two daughters were born. In 1977, the couple moved to Lamberton.

Roy enjoyed many years of farming, fishing, and hunting pheasants, and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Evers of Lamberton; children, Gary Evers of Lamberton; Linda (Mark) Detlefsen of Lester Prairie, Minnesota and Diane (Richard) Peterreins of New Ulm, Minnesota; grandchildren, Joseph (Lacy) Detlefsen, James (Tawnya) Peterreins, Jessica Ehlers, Kevin Evers, Scott Evers, Jesse (Rachel) Evers, Sheri (Brian) Gross and Hope (Clint) Mack; great-grandchildren, Breishen Peterreins, Carter Peterreins, Jack Gross, Ethan Gross, Shea Evers, Graysen Evers, Norah Mack, Brecken Ehlers, Lauren Detlefsen, Liam Christopherson and Kade Christopherson.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters, Ella Junker and Anne Pidde.
