brett kuehlFuneral services for 43-year-old Brett Kuehl of Windom, Minnesota, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 27, 2014, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. The church is located at 906 Prospect Avenue.

Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ormsby, Minnesota, located at 2325 120th Avenue.

Visitation will be held at the church the day of the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the arrangements.

Brett Kuehl passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014, in Windom.

Brett Alan Kuehl was born on May 15, 1971, in St. James, Minnesota, the son of David Frank and Helen JoAnne (Knaack) Kuehl. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Ormsby on June 13, 1971 and later confirmed on April 21, 1991, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. He received his early education at Winfair Elementary in Windom and graduated from the Windom Public Schools with the Class of 1992.

Through the years, Brett lived at home on the family farm in Ormsby until age five, when he moved to the Hiawatha Home in Rochester, Minnesota for a short time before moving to the Home for Creative Living in Windom on October 3, 1976. He lived there until he passed away.

Brett worked at the DAC (Development Achievement Center) in Windom as an assembler for 22 years. He also was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom where he was a greeter and a member of People’s First and Men’s card club.

Brett’s enjoyments in life included going to the Pow Wow Parade in Mountain Lake, Minnesota every year and to many music concerts.

He is survived by his father, David Kuehl of Ormsby; brother, Brian and his wife, Heidi, of Ormsby; step-nephews, Kolby and Kade; many, many aunts, uncles and cousins; HCL (Home For Creative Living) Staff, Cottonwood County DAC Staff and housemates.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Helen JoAnne Kuehl and grandparents.
