Olga Fast

olga fastFuneral services for 95-year-old Olga Fast will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014, at First Mennonite Church north of Butterfield. The church is located at 32040 650th Avenue.

Interment will be in the church cemetery,  located at the corner of Watonwan County Road #116 and 320th Street and 650th Avenue or 1 miles east of Watonwan County Highway #2, 2 miles north of Watonwan County Highway #2, 2 miles south of Minnesota Highway #30.

Pastor LeRoy Reynolds will serve as officiant.

Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake is handling the arrangements.

Olga Anna Sawatzky Fast was born on November 7, 1918 in St. James, Minnesota, the daughter of Cornelius and Susan A. (Enns) Sawatzky.

Olga and her husband, Alvin served, as missionaries in Cuba for 15 years, in Venezuela for 25 years and finally in Hialeah, Florida for 15 years in church planting and prison ministry. They retired in 2001 to Dowling Park, Florida.

She passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Alvin of Dowling Park; her children, Leroy “Dan” (Judy) Fast of Houston, Texas, Leland (Donna) Fast of Atlanta, Georgia, Lynnea (Landrum) Wise of Houston, Loren (Dora) Fast of Cotulla and Texas, Lowell (Sandy) Fast of Atlanta; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvin and Paul; sister, Margaret and her first-born son, Larry Gene.
