Ernest ‘Ernie’ Lehman

A private family committal service for 83-year-old Ernest “Ernie” Albert Lehman of Madelia, Minnesota, will be held at Riverside Cemetery in rural Madelia.

Ernie Lehman passed away at his home on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Ernest “Ernie” Albert Lehman was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the son of Reinhold and Antonia Lehman, on October 5, 1933. Ernie grew up in Madelia and was a graduate of Madelia High School in 1952.

He was united in marriage to Gail Jensen on June 7, 1958. The couple resided in rural Madelia for nearly 60 years. Ernie worked as a dairy farmer and later worked at the House of Print in Madelia.

In his free time, he enjoyed visiting the library and selecting his favorite books for reading. Ernie was a long-time member of Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Gail Lehman; children, David (Cindy) Lehman and Debra Gray, all of Madelia, Danial (Jessica) Lehman of Hanska, Minnesota and Darren (Jenny) Lehman of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; siblings, Ruby (Ewald) Keller of Gaylord, Minnesota and Richard (Sarah) Lehman of Windom; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Lehman and sister, Ruth Lehman.
