wanda bloomquistA Celebration of Life Service for 80-year-old Wanda J. Bloomquist of Trimont, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 12, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, with Rev. Arland Braaten-Lee officiating. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in rural Trimont.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the church. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com 

Wanda Bloomquist passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2014 at the Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont. 

Wanda Jean Hansen was born on June 27, 1934 to Emil and Irene (Kramer) Hansen in Monterey, Minnesota. She attended country school district #110 through eighth grade and then graduated from Trimont Public High school in 1952. Wanda then was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Jackson Hospital.

On October 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wayne Bloomquist . After their marriage ,they lived and farmed in Fox Lake Township of Martin County and raised their family. She enjoyed living on the farm and driving the tractor as well as working alongside of her husband during harvest. Wanda enjoyed caring for her children as well as gardening, cooking and sewing. She was a member of the Triumph Garden Club and the fourth generation of known gardeners in Monterey and Triumph. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and served on its Altar Guild. Wanda made the church altar cloth with hardenger stitching. She also was a member of the Trimont Nursing Home Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Bloomquist of rural Trimont; four daughters, Glenda Bloomquist of Trimont, Paula and John Yocom of rural Emmons, Minnesota, Sheila and Paul Bjelland of rural Lake Mills, Iowa and Karna Bloomquist of Trimont; one son, Eric and Amy Bloomquist of Trimont; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roland Hansen of rural Trimont; two sisters-in-law, Eunice Johnson of St. James, Minnesota and Melva and Donnovan Ammann of rural Ormsby, Minnesota; two brothers-in-law, Harold and DiAnn Bloomquist of rural Trimont and Charles and Michele Bloomquist of Los Alametus, California; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lowell Hansen; one son-in-law, Steven Wilds; a sister-in-law, Donna Hansen; a nephew, Tim Hansen; two brothers-in-law, Ron and Sharon Bloomquist and Floyd Johnson and other relatives.
