Walkway of Flags salute’s courageousness of the nation’s people

Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Lake sponsors Fourth of July event

The Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Lake is sponsoring a Walkway of Flags over the Fourth of July weekend. The Walkway of Flags is designed to honor everyday men and women – saluting the courage of men and women, whether they served in the armed forces or not; as well as having what it takes to raise a family, teach a class, or work on a farm, ranch or for a small business.

Over the Fourth of July weekend, sidewalks at Mountain Lake City Park will be lined with small American flags, each flag bearing the name of a person honored through a gift to Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Lake. Following the weekend, the flags will continue to be displayed throughout the month of July around the grounds of the Good Samaritan Society communities – The Village and The Lodge. These flags will stand as a powerful testament to the courage of the one whose name is designated on each one.

To participate, donate a gift of $15 or more, along with the name of the person or persons being honored, before Monday, June 30. Then, take the opportunity to stroll through the flags and take the time to read the name on each flag – the name of an everyday hero, quite possibly your neighbor, friend, relative – of just someone whose name you recognize.

All proceeds will be used to improve the lives of those living at Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Lake communities – all courageous everyday folks in their own right. Those making a donation may even select the project they support – including a laptop for resident/tenant use,  outdoor water feature, piano or endowment funds.
