Howard A. Lindquist

Eighty-two-year-old Howard a. Lindquist of Lakefield, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake, Minnesota. A memorial service for 82-year-old Howard A. Lindquist of Lakefield, Minnesota, will be held tomorrow (Saturday, April 26, 2014), beginning at 2:30 p.m., at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Lakefield, with Pastor John Schuetz officiating.

Howard A. Lindquist passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake, Minnesota

Howard Albert Lindquist, the son of Albert and Emma (Johnson) Lindquist, was born on September 16, 1931 in Douglas County, Minnesota. As a child, Howard attended Alexandria Public Schools. In 1950, Howard enlisted in the United States Navy, being honorably discharged in 1954. Upon his discharge, Howard enrolled in Mankato State College, graduating in 1958 with a degree in English. Howard taught in various high schools in Idaho, South Dakota and Minnesota.

In 1963, Howard was united in marriage to Janet Stark at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, Minnesota. The couple had one son, John Howard. In 2010, Howard became a resident of Lakeview Assisted Living.

Howard really enjoyed being outdoors, using fishing as a good excuse to be outside. He also enjoyed woodworking and reading.

Howard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet, of Lakefield; his son John Lindquist of Lakefield; his sister Alyce Person of Muskogee, Oklahoma; his brother James (Sharon) Lindquist of Andover, Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
