mark wendlerFuneral services for Mark Wendler, 59, of Minneota, Minnesota, awill be held at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, January 30, 2015, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota. The church is located at 204 Court Street South.

Interment will be in the New Hope Faith Lutheran Cemetery, located in rural Comfrey at 29053, County Road #1

Pastor Brian Nehring will serve as officiant for the services.

Visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Sturm Funeral Home-Comfrey Chapel.

Mark Wendler passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015, in Minneota.

Mark was born February 11, 1955, the son of Andrew and Lora (Wall) Wendler in Comfrey. He was baptized and confirmed at the Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Mark attended and graduated from Comfrey Public High School in 1973.

He lived in numerous places during his life including St. Peter, Mankato, and Crystal, all in Minnesota.

On February 12, 1983, he was united in marriage to Connie Jean Cowdin. They had one daughter, Victoria. The marriage was later dissolved.

Mark enjoyed poker, reading and time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He is survived by his mother, Lora Wendler of Comfrey; daughter, Victoria Wendler of Marshall, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jackson, Ashtyn and Ethan of Marshall; sister, Mona Sjoblom and husband Joe Standing of Plymouth, Minnesota; nephews, Isaac Sjoblom of Minneapolis and Jacob Sjoblom of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Andrew; grandparents; sister, Marcia and granddaughter, Angel.
