THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Area (MLA) Wolverine varsity girls basketball team was on-the-road on Tuesday, February 14, for a Red Rock Conference game on Valentine’s Day with Westbrook/Walnut Grove (WWG) at Westbrook. The final score had an eight-point spread, 56 to 48. WWG held a four-point, 27 to 23 lead at halftime. Leading the Wolverines were Liana Blomgren and Taylor Naas, each scoring 10 points, with Jewel Soutthivong and Jenneel Rodney each adding eight and nabbing 11 rebounds. Emma Woelber led WWG with 21 points and seven assistss for the Chargers. Avoree Bakken had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for WWG, and Grace Woelber scored nine points. Camryn Bunting had 13 rebounds and three steals. MLA (11-13) will host Fulda on Friday, February 17, in the final home game of the season – with player parents saluted at the contest.
