Claw back from 20-point deficit, but fall just short
THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Area (MLA) Wolverine girls varsity had “claws up” as they rallied from a 20-point deficit, but fell just one-point short of their total goal, losing 44-43 at Okabena to conference foe Heron Lake-Okabena. MLA had the ball with five ticks remaining on the game clock, but turned the ball over before being able to set up for a winning shot. Liana Blomgren paced the Wolverines with 10 points. HL-O’s Gabbie Stenzel had 24 points. MLA is now 5-6 on the season. They travel to Mankato to play a non-conference game against Mankato Loyola on Monday, January 9.
