THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Area (MLA) Wolverines Varsity Girls Basketball squad, under Head Coach Wayne Klassen, had a successful Red Rock Conference home game on Tuesday night, February 9, dropping the Fulda Raiders by 12 points, 42 to 30. Although behind by four at the half, 19 to 15, the Wolverines pulled away in the second stanza to notch the win. Senior guard Signey Stoesz kept adding to her 1,000+-plus career points, lacing the nets for 26. She added six steals. Junior forward Margo Stoesz chipped in nine points. MLA advances to 10-8 overall and 7-5 in the conference tilt. This Friday, February 12, they are on-the-road to Red Rock Central at Lamberton. On Tuesday, February 16, they continue conference play, hosting Heron Lake-Okabena and Westbrook/Walnut Grove is in town next Friday, February 19. They close out the regular season with a non-conference game at home with Madelia on Monday, February 22.
