Cobra wrestlers take on United, Marshall

WINDOM/MOUNTAIN LAKE (W/ML) Cobra Wrestlers dropped their first meet in the Marshall Trianagular on Thursday, Jnuary 14, to United, 52-12. In the loss, Zach Spinks at 120 earned a fall, with Nick Curry at 126 and Jeff Wright, at 160, winning by decision. In the team’s second meet, this against Marshall, the wrestlers held tough in the opening weights, but lost five of their final six matches to lose to the hosts, 42-24. Spinks at 120 and Alex Borsgard at 126, kept the meet close at 9-6. Evan Wiens at 138 earned a pin to stay on the Tigers’ heels – 15-12. Yanick Tade, at 160, nabbed a pin in overtime, but that was the last win for the Cobras. On Saturday, January 16, MLA will be in Lake Crystal for the Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial Tourament. There will be a Cobra Tri Meet in Windom on Tuesday, January 19.
