Saints top Wolverines in Saturday night girls game

Team, fans brave winter road conditions to travel to St. James

IN A SATURDAY night, January 9 non-conference girls basketball game, the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverines dropped a seven-point – 51-44 – decision to their Minnesota State Highway #60 host to the east, the St. James Saints. In the loss, seniors Chanah Brandt and Signey Stoesz each tallied 12 points. Leading the Saints was Allison Brandts with 18. Next up for the Wayne Klassen-coached team is the rescheduled girls/boys doubleheader versus the Windom Eagles at Mountain Lake this Monday, January 11. For that game, the girls will tip-off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game at 8 p.m.
