MLC students share Thanksgiving meal as pilgrims, Native Americans

“I think Thanksgiving means sharing and caring for other people, even for people who don’t have food or they’re homeless. I really care about a lot of people.”

“It’s about thanks, to thank people for giving you stuff that you like and for giving stuff that people need.”

“It’s about giving and being thankful.”

“We celebrate things that we have and are thankful for.”

A few thoughts about the meaning of Thanksgiving from some of the kindergarten, first-grade and second-grade students at Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) as they gathered together today (Monday, November 23) around the table to celebrate the holiday.

The children came together to give thanks as students – and as pilgrims and Native Americans, representatives of the first Thanksgiving.

THE TRADITION CONTINUES. MLC kindergarten, first-grade and second-grade students celebrating Thanksgiving as pilgrims and Native Americans with a special meal and gathering. The meal featured, or course, turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, peaches, brownie and milk.
