Local police department investigating report
The Sleepy Eye Police Department reportedly received information on Wednesday, July, 29, of an attempted child abduction.
According to authorities, a young female was approached at South Park the previous evening (Tuesday, July 28) while alone around 7 p.m. A male party was driving a van that is described as large, white and dirty, and had windows that went all the way to the back. The man yelled, asking if she was lost and approached her on foot. He reached for her hand and began leading her back to the van. The female broke free and ran to the far side of the park. The man got back in his van and drove around the park before leaving.
The man was described as white, with shaggy, dirty blonde hair, facial hair on his chin, a single earring in his left ear and was wearing a tank top and black jeans.
