Funeral services for 80-year-old Audrey I. Pieper of Frazee, Minnesota, were held Thursday morning, May 28, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Jackson, Minnesota.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.
Serving as officiants for the services were Pastor Rob Moorlach and Becky (Rowe) Lowe.
Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson handled the funeral arrangements.
Audrey I. Pieper passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015, in the home of her daughter in Estherville, Iowa.
Audrey Ila (Rowe) Pieper was born on February 22, 1935, the daughter of Dean S. and Viola A. (Buck) Rowe in Ceylon, Minnesota. She attended schools in Ceylon, Alpha, Minnesota and Petersburg, Iowa, before graduating from Jackson Public High School in 1954.
She was united in marriage to Charles Pieper on December 10, 1954 at her parents’ home. After marriage, they lived in Colorado, Oregon, New Mexico, Minnesota and Iowa. Audrey was a waitress at the Larson’s Truck Stop in Spirit Lake, Iowa, worked at Berkley’s in Spirit Lake, the Best Western in Jackson and the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, from which she retired.
Audrey was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jackson, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was a member of both the Jackson and Spencer American Legion and VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Auxiliaries.
She loved to crochet and spend time fishing on the pontoon. In her younger years, she farmed with her father. But, her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and the love of her life, Charles, for the last 80 years.
Survivors include her lifelong partner, Charles of Frazee; six children, Henry Pieper of the Dallas, Oregon, Barb Pieper of Mankato, Minnesota, Shirley Crawmer of Spencer, Carl (Karen) Pieper of Frazee, Carrie (Larry) Johnson of Estherville and Audra (Rod) Sowles of Brewster, Minnesota; a special son, Bob Metli of Ault, Colorado; 13 grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Sonya, Matt, Tyler, Jean, Trin, Travis, Kyle, Ryan, Roxi, Kadee and Heather and many great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Dean and Viola Rowe; a son, Clarence Pieper; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Dick Anderson; a sister, Lorilei Hoffmeyer; a brother, Leonard Rowe and son-in-law, Marc Crawmer.
