Exhibits included both elementary and high school projects
The elementary and high school students at Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) held a Student Expo on Tuesday evening, May 12, highlighting social studies and art projects.
An Oak (grades three and four) Readers’ Theatre on “The Scrambled States,” held in the music room, opened the expo. The script was written by high school English instructor and the school’s lead teacher, Kim Friesen.
Following, attendees were able to visit with and ask questions of the students about their displays. In the MLC gymnasium were the elementary exhibits. These included Acacia’s (grades one and two) Tour of Washington, D. C. items, Oak’s (grades three and four) Tour of States and Cedar’s (grades five and six) Immigration Projects.
Displayed in the MLC lunch room were the high school exhibits – a photography display of old barns by junior Josh Raabe – along with various art projects completed by freshmen and sophomores of the high school art appreciation class (part of the curriculum on an every-other-year) basis.
