Annual Good Samaritan Bowl is this Saturday, Sunday
The annual Good Samaritan Bowl, hosted by the Good Samaritan Societies of Mountain Lake and St. James, will be held this Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, at Memory Lanes in St. James. Fundraising teams – with each team member noting that bowling is right up their alley – have registered for bowling time slots on each of the days – 12 p.m.-2 p.m., 3 p.m.-5 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. (The 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday time is recognized as a special two-hours only for military families.)
The bowling event fundraiser is being held to raise monies that will be split 50/50 between the Good Samaritan Societies in Mountain Lake and St. James. Mountain Lake has designated the use of funds raised towards walking paths on their Good Samaritan campus, as well as for independently-controlled heat pumps in each resident room. Funds for St. James will be used to purchase and add rehabilitation equipment.
Over the past weeks, bowlers have collected pledges for their time on the lanes. The minimum charge per bowler is $25 (or $100 for a team of four). This includes shoe rental, bowling and eligibility for a number of door prizes drawn throughout the event.
The primary sponsor for the Good Samaritan Bowl is Buhler Construction Company of Butterfield.
The list of major sponsors includes Custom Motors of Mountain Lake, First National Bank of St. James, Downs Foods Group of Mankato, Bargen Incorporated of Mountain Lake and Armour-Eckrich of St. James.
