MLA girls basketball moves above .500 on the season

Drop guest Madelia by 27; won/lost record now 6-5

A non-conference 27-point win over guest Madelia last night (Friday, January 5) moved the Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine girls basketball team above .500 on the season, their season record to 6-5.

The Wolverines took the win, 65 to 38 after working their way to a comfortable 45 to 14 cushion by the half, courtesy of a pressing defense that had Madelia coughing up multiple turnovers.

Senior Jenneel Rodney earned a double-double on the night, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 boards. Junior Taylor Naas tallied 12 points, and sophomore Sophie Carrison netted 10.

Lilly Maul led Madelia with 13 points.

MLA returns to Red Rock Conference action on Tuesday, January 9, with a home game against Ellsworth.
