Mass of Christian Burial for 98-year-old Lucille Hoffman of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, July 6,  2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Sleepy Eye. The church is located at 636 1st Avenue North.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, located at 720 3rd Avenue N. E.

Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Sleepy Eye Chapel, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral home is located at 301 3rd Avenue S. W.

Lucille Hoffmann passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.

Lucille Mary Zwaschka was born March 23, 1919 in Comfrey, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Louisa (Schroepfer) Zwaschka. She attended school in Comfrey. On September 27, 1938, Lucille was united in marriage to Roman N. Hoffmann at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey. They farmed together on Roman’s family farm, south of Sleepy Eye.

Lucille enjoyed gardening, baking, old-time music, dancing and bowling. She was a member of the Christian Mothers’ Society and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Sleepy Eye.

Lucille is survived by her daughters, Marjorie (Joe) Dummer of New Ulm, Minnesota, Lorraine (Jim) Schweiss of Mankato, Minnesota, Dolores (Dave) Kokesch of Gibbon, Minnesota and Marilyn Hulke of Courtland, Minnesota; son, Robert “Bob” R. (Leslie) Hoffmann of Sleepy Eye; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Roman (Betty) Zwaschka of Comfrey and Melvin Zwaschka of Mankato; sister-in-law, Agnes Zwaschka of Sleepy Eye and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roman N. Hoffmann; son-in-law, Larry Hulke; grandchildren, Dean Kokesch and Kimberly Jo Hulke; brother, Harold Zwaschka and sister-in-law, Dolores Zwaschka.
