Kids Kafe in Butterfield begins May 22

Watonwan County free meal program will feature lunch only, served at B-OPS cafeteria

Kids Kafe is coming Monday, May 22 each of the three school districts in Watonwan County, including Buterfield-Odin.

Kids Kafe, a Summer Food Service program, offers a FREE meal to ANY youth 18-years-old and under. There is no paperwork to fill out and no money is needed. Adult noon meal lunch prices are $4.

Lunch meals only will be served at Butterfield-Odin Public School (B-OPS) site (the school cafeteria) will provided from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Tuesday, May 31. There will NO MEALS July 3 through 7.

The Summer food Service Program is a federally-funded program operated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Minnesota State Department of Education administers the program at the local level.

This program was established to provide nutritious meals to children during summer vacation, when school lunch is not available.

Additional funding is provided by a grant from Second Harvest.
