MLA-C Girls Softball over Madela/Truman, 11-0
It took just five innings for the Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey (MLA-C) Wolverine Girls Softball squad to take out Madelia/Truman at Munson Field in post-season play, 11-0.
Stalwart pitcher Molly Carnell threw five shutout innings, and the Wolverine offense was active in the win. In their half of the third and fourth innings, MLA-C tallied six and four runs, respectively. These were tacked onto the one run earned in the opening inning for the convincing victory.
Carnell recorded eight “K”s in the victory, with a 0.40 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched). She also had 15 first-pitch strikes.
At the plate Rylie Tollefson had two hits. A trio of Wolverines led the offense with Quality At Bats (QABs); Meredith Suess and Destiny Sybounheuan with three and Margo Stoesz, a pair.
Suess and Hailey Pidde both brought home two RBIs, with Amber Eischen recording one.
The team’s head coach is Brian Hopwood, with Shawn Naas as assistant coach.
