Basic Training send-off slated for Brodie Freeman

Set to leave for Ford Leonard Wood on June 7

Brodie Feeman, who will be a senior at Mountain Lake Public High School in the fall, will be saluted with a send-off open house as he leaves for Basic Training on Sunday, May 28, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Our Hometown Café.

The member of the United States Army National Guard will be heading to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, located in the Mark Twain National Forest, part of the Ozarks, on Wednesday, June 7. The military community covers 61,000 acres.

The purpose of the 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training is to make the individiual physically and mentally stronger than they have every been, and ready to join the United States Army.
