Angeline Steffl

Mass of Christian Burial for 90-year-old Angeline Steffl of Springfield, Minnesota, will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2017, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey. The church is located at 218 Field Street North.

Burial will be in St. Raphael’s Catholic Cemetery, located ½-mile north of Springfield, Minnesota.

Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Comfrey Chapel on Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The funeral home is located at 101 Field Street North.

Angeline Steffl died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Angeline Ann Steffl was born on November 1, 1926, in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, the daughter of Clement and Philomenia (Groebner) Weiss. At the age of seven, her mother died and she went to live with her sister and her husband, Dolores and Albert Ebnet. She attended school in Mulligan Township, Iberia, District 59 near Comfrey, St. Raphael’s Catholic School and Dotson. She then lived on the farm with her father until her marriage to Lowell Steffl on October 27, 1949, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Springfield.

The couple farmed north of Lamberton until moving to a farm near Comfrey, Minnesota in 1956. They later moved into Comfrey. Angeline was a very forgiving and kind mother who enjoyed coloring, gardening, canning, cooking, traveling, furniture re-finishing, antiques, crafts and sewing. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and cherished friends.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Tom) Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Lowell ‘Bud’ Jr. (special friend Therese) Steffl of Mankato, Minnesota, Lawrence Steffl of Leavenworth, Minnesota, Jean Steffl of Comfrey, Sharon (Reggie) Prokosch of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Debra (special friend Brian) Hansen of Sleepy Eye, Patricia (Jeff) Gluth of Springfield, Gary (Mary) Steffl of Stillwater, Minnesota and Doug (special friend Darcy) Steffl of Comfrey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Berbice Rose of Morgan, Minnesota and Mary Jane Windschitl of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell in 2006; brother, Clarence and sister, Dolores.
