Richard “Dick” Luverne Robinson was born to Ivar and Margaret (Baier) Wallin on August 27, 1921. His mother passed away at an early age and left a family of 11. As Ivar was unable to care for such a large family, the 11 brothers and sisters went their separate ways. A local dentist and his wife took Dick into their home and raised him to manhood. The name change from Wallin to Robinson occurred during his early age.

LaDonna Pearl Robinson was born to Arthur and Hannah (Guhlke) Jeske on September 3, 1927. She grew up on a farm near Comfrey, Minnesota. LaDonna attended Comfrey country school and eventually graduated from Comfrey High School. He also served in the Korean War. Upon being discharged in December 1945, Dick attended Mankato State University in Mankato and Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, before going into the restaurant business, where he met his wife, LaDonna.

They were married in October 1947 at the Congregational Church in Comfrey. This marriage was blessed with three children, Sandy, Renee and Kirk. LaDonna worked at the Drug Store and was a hostess at the Driftwood in Windom while she raised her children. Dick went into the grain business for 15 years. After that, he was a sales rep for USS Agri-Chemicals, working for that company for 18 years. They gave him early retirement in 1981. He then went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 16 years as a substitute rural mail carrier and later as a regular carrier. He retired in 1997.

Dick moved into the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom in February 2017.

LaDonna moved into the Good Samaritan Society of Mountain Lake-The Village in 2012.
